Rick specializes in Western Dimension lumber. He began his career in the lumber business in 2003. 
He joined Viking as a trader in the winter of 2005. Rick graduated from the University of Minnesota’s 
College of Natural Resources, where he majored in Forest Products Marketing. He attended the University 
on a full football scholarship.

Rick grew up near Columbus, Ohio, where his family still lives. After spending his college career in the Twin Cities, 
Rick has learned to love Minnesota’s seasons. He plays softball in the summer, basketball all year and enjoys both 
open water and ice fishing. He also is a big sports fan where he cheers for the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, 
Minnesota Timberwolves and is naturally a die-hard Gopher Football and Basketball fan.

Rick and his wife Shelly were married in October of 2006
